Phitsanulok is one of the most tropical areas in Thailand. It is hot and tropical all year round with an average yearly rainfall of almost 2 metres. However, as you head to the higher points of the province the air is much ‘colder’ and temperatures can sometimes reach freezing point. There is a plethora of plants and animals in this area, many of which are severely endangered. The most natural sights in the area include the Phetchabun Mountains, Nan river and a number of swamps, forests and caves. A lot of the area has been adapted for farming which generates a substantial amount of income for the area. Of course, like most areas of Thailand, Phitsanulok province also generates income from tourism.
