Pattani Province is located in the south of the country. It is located directly on the Malay Peninsula, with the Gulf of Thailand in the north of the province. One of the most stunning features in the area is the Sai Khao waterfall, located within a forest park. This is one of five provinces in Thailand where the majority of the population are Muslim, which means that there are a number of mosques within the province. A substantial amount of income is generated from tourists who flock to the sandy white beaches all along the Gulf of Thailand, however, there is also a pretty stable ‘fishing’ industry.
