Chaiyaphum Province is located in the north east of the country. The province is a mixture of geographical features with the top of the area being home to the phetchabun mountains whilst the bottom is home to the Khorat Plateau. Much of the economy here is fuelled by the sale of rice, sugar cane and taro root. However, this place is also a major central hub for the silk industry in Thailand. Tourism isn’t as rife as it is in other places in the country, however a number of ‘eco-tourists’ are attracted to sample the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
