Phuket Province, one of the most southern provinces in Thailand is a complete island province with no land boundaries. It is the largest island in all of Thailand and plays host to the city of Phuket. Over 70% of the landscape is crafted with some of the most beautiful mountains in the world, which makes it the perfect place for someone going on a vacation where they won’t be relaxing so much. The economy of Phuket is driven by the tin mining operations, although with the sandy white beaches along the coast, much of it has also been developed into a ‘tourist hub’. It was a major focal point of a tsunami in 2004, although all buildings and attractions have since been repaired.
