Loy Krathong 28th November

Loy Krathong Thailand
Loy Krathong festival falls on 28th November this year. Loy Krathong is the second most romantic day in the Thai calendar. This festival, also known as the festival of lights is a time when couples come together to float their Krathong boats. A Krathong miniature boat made from banana leaves, flowers, candles and other decorations. People also light sky lanterns together and float these off into the air, with a wish for happiness and prosperity for the future.
Krathongs were “invented” by a woman called Nang Nopamas who was a consort to King Ramkhamhaeng. She lit the Krathong and floated it in the river so that the current would take it past her lover The King. Today people float Krathongs, usually with their partners. They believe that if the Krathong stays afloat until they can no longer see it, then their love will last forever. Loy Krathong is an important date for romance in Thailand and a popular time for giving gifts.
Please note: Krathong "boats" are ONLY availalble for delivery on 27th or 28th November (The date of Loy Krathong is 28th November)
